The Gospel of Matthew

Praxis comes from the Greek, meaning “Practice, as distinguished from theory; application or use of knowledge or skills.”  Or, to put it more simply, “Putting knowledge into practice.” Praxis Bible studies are free, in-depth Bible studies for women of all ages using a systematic method of studying Scripture. Using only the Bible, paper, and a pencil, you will learn how to draw knowledge from the Bible and move that knowledge from your head to your heart so that what you do with your hands changes!  We do this in three ways:  personal, at-home study; discussion in small groups; and listening to teaching. Through this study you will come to know God and His Word better and you will also discover how practical God’s Word is for your life right now.

Deuteronomy 32:47:  This is no empty word for you, but your very life, and by this word you shall live.

The peacock is an ancient symbol of immortality. From the third
century on the peacock became a symbol among Christians of the
resurrection and eternal life. Brilliantly colored peacocks have been
used to decorate scrolls from the Hebrew Bible and to adorn the
margins of various Christian manuscripts. The peacock is also an
apt illustration of the beauty to be found in God’s Word, which, like
the peacock, is best seen when it is “unfolded.”
